Allergy Awareness in Children – Level 2 Certificate (TQUK)
Course overview
Over the past few years, the number of people who experience allergic reactions has been steadily rising. Today, there are an estimated two million people in the UK living with an allergy.
The objective of this qualification is to introduce learners working with children, working in adult health and social care, or working in the service sector, to allergens, allergies, food labelling, and allergy awareness for those who are either working with children, working in adult health and social care, or working in the service sector. The course includes information on the symptoms of allergic reactions, the treatments available for allergic reactions, and fi rst aid for those experiencing a severe allergic reaction.
Who is it suitable for?
The course is suitable for a wide range of learners who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of allergies. It may be useful as an introduction for those who wish to pursue a career in working with people who have allergies, or those preparing for a wide range of job roles in diverse sectors which require them to have an awareness of allergies as part of their responsibilities.

This course is split into three manageable units.
Unit 1: Allergens, allergies and intolerances (Mandatory)
Unit 2: Food labelling and packaging (Mandatory)
Unit 3: Allergy awareness for those working with children

Completion is expected within the academic year. Learners whose completion is delayed may be subject to an additional assessment fee.
Learners must complete an initial assessment before a place can be offered.
